Lights and Perks

Tonight I started to feel the Christmas spirit a little bit as I gallivanted through a garden sparkling with rows upon rows of Christmas lights. It felt whimsical and magical, like a dream almost. I have begun to notice this year that my Christmas excitement just isn't there, which obviously makes me sad. It used to be about visiting family, running around my grandparents house playing hide and go seek while we waited to open presents, jumping around in the snow, making people smile, watching Christmas movies and spending time with friends and family. Now I feel like all of that is gone and I have absolutely no idea why, maybe it's because I'm getting older or something. Don't get me wrong, I love this time of year but lately, it just doesn't feel the same.

In lighter news, I watched The Perks of Being a Wallflower  tonight and it follows up to the book brilliantly! What's going on in your life these festive days?

I can still recall, our last summer

I've been pretty nostalgic lately, which, if you know me, is not too far from the norm. Don't get me wrong, I try to live in the moment and I do enjoy the brisk ocean weather day to day as I leave for school. But, sometimes I really do miss the hot island humidity from a few months ago. This past summer was for sure one of my favourites. I went back to my home town in the prairies to visit my family, made some new friends, spent time with the old, took picture (and loads of them), spent time with family, went barefoot almost 24/7, drank endless amounts of pink lemonade, traveled to one of my now new favourite places on Earth; New York City, took a road trip to Tofino and a load more. (Mentally prepare yourself for an abundance of NYC photos)

How can I forget food?

Honey & Cinnamon Face Mask!

Are you struggling with those darn red dots that pop up on your face every now and then? Me too. Did you know that mixing honey and cinnamon makes a completely 100% natural facial mask to clear your skin? It does, I promise! If you are wondering how exactly it can help, that is because honey is a natural antibacterial that can help cure acne when applied to skin. Cinnamon, on the other hand, has microbial properties that can help stop the growth of bacteria. How awesome is that?
--

Take 3 tablespoons of honey and blend with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon.

Mixed together, it should look like melted chocolate

After mixing spread with your fingers evenly on your makeup free, clean face (try not to eat it though)

After ten minutes wash your face completely and pat dry. Then behold fresh smooth skin! I highly advise to ask your parents before rummaging through cupboards to use the ingredients. (If you have sensitive skin this may not be the best idea.) Leave a comment below if you gave this a go!

Decembrrr

It's finally that time of year again. You know, to break out the thick wool mittens, obnoxious snow jackets, the dozens upon dozens of Christmas movies and maybe a dash of holiday cheer too? I can confidently say that this is my favourite month out of the twelve of them. The atmosphere is so joyful and nearly every house has Christmas lights strung across the roof, a huge lavishing pine taking up their living room or an abundant wreath hung on their front door. It's a month of giving, family, jingle bells, Christmas carols, tinsel, love and not to mention fantastic photo ops!

Hello There!

Hi! My name is Madi, I enjoy living life to it's fullest, creating memories and having fun like any other 16 year old who has the mind of a 30 something one. I spend most of my teenage life here in internet land so I decided hey, why not make a blog so I can share my memories, pictures and experiences with others? So here you have it, my "why not". I have had a couple of blogs before, but being the perfectionist I am I made a new one again. A few fun facts about me are; I absolutely adore country music, I am awful at making decisions, I rarely wear matching socks and I get along with virtually anyone. Along the timeline of this blog you'll figure out more about me so I'm done for now. Tell me about your lovely self!

oh look, it's me
